I don't really get road rage, but...

...I do find myself wishing I had some way of making slow/bad/obstructive drivers realize just how terrible they are.

Like, it’s not a violent urge. I just wish I could pull them aside, show them the right way of doing things, and have them realize the error of their ways.

Of course, that’s unrealistic. They’d never admit they were wrong. “45 mile an hour is plent fast ‘nough. Aint nobody should go no faster than that I tell you what!”

I get calm road rage. Horn and middle finger IF I was in imminent danger. Occasionally I’ll curse the mother of the offender depending on how angry I am.

See that’s like 2 steps more confrontational than I am willing to get.

My version of intense road rage is a withering stare and a “what the fuck?” hand gesture.

Hella Supertones? I’m thinking about getting some of these to see how they work at getting slow drivers to move.

Nah, honking is way too generic and confrontational for me. Honking just says “FUCK YOU!” when I want to say “YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING SPECIFICALLY WRONG PLEASE BECOME A BETTER DRIVER.”

Or just learn to relax, it’s a crazy world.

Sigh..I’ve come to accept that SF bay area drivers will never learn to use the highway on ramp correctly. They feather the throttle until they’re merging at 40-45 mph and making everyone in the 1st lane brake... Someone please help these people, its like almost ALL the drivers here do this.

I’m still ahead of the “I’LL STAB YOU IN THE DICK FOR GETTING INTO MY LANE AHEAD OF ME!” people. I’m normally a very peaceful person. Aggressive driving doesn’t phase me. BAD driving, though...

Dear god yes. We have a sort of walled highway where the limit is 55 but the general traffic speed is about 70. Towards the exit I take to get home, everyone crowds into the right lane either because they don’t want to be with the faster traffic or because they’re exiting. Shortly before the exit a lane merges onto the highway. People inevitably slow to an eventual stop trying to merge, which just backs up that right lane for a few miles. I usually try to stay in the left until about a half mile before the exit. Usually I can find a comfortable gap, sometimes I have to go the long way home.

The fun part is the people in the stopped right lane then try to merge into the left lane at a ~70mph speed differential.

Oh my god that happens sometimes too! They’ll speed up to about 40 mph by the end of the onramp, then let off or even worse, brake, to check for merging room. Like seriously...license tests need to start including highway driving. If you’re not at or above the speed of traffic by the time you reach the merge, you instantly fail the test. If you cruise in the left lane when there is room to your right, you fail. That’s the only way to get these people to learn.

Can’t be as bad as Toronto drivers, especially Bramladesh (Brampton).

Today when I was on my way home I was in the far right lane on the highway and traffic was pretty light so I was doing about 50 mph. I look in my rear view and see lines of cars in my lane and the middle lane being held up by a early 2000's RAV4 and a Dodge Caravan that had to be doing like 30 mph.

i had them on a previous car. the one time i had to use them for the “slow asshat in the fast lane” situation, they worked wonderfully.
